Abstract

Indonesia, it is estimated that 52 million Indonesian women are at risk of cervical cancer, while 36 percent of women from all cancer patients are cervical cancer patients. An early detection method that is easy to test even in various countries is by visual inspection of acetic acid (IVA). This study aims to determine the relationship between Mother's Knowledge and Attitude with the IVA Test Examination in the Work Area of the Jagong Health Center, Central Aceh Regency in 2021. This study uses a quantitative approach with the type of observational research with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study were all women of childbearing age who had been married for more than 3 years and who visited the Jagong Public Health Center, Central Aceh Regency, as many as 357 people. Samples were taken as many as 62. Data analysis was carried out by statistical tests using chi-square. Mother's attitude about the IVA Test in the Jagong Health Center Work Area, Central Aceh Regency, was more in the less good category, as many as 48 people (77.4%). There is a significant relationship between mother's knowledge and attitudes with the IVA Test in the Work Area of the Jagong Health Center, Central Aceh Regency in 2021 with a p value <0.005. Lack of knowledge and negative attitude are related to the action of the IVA test examination. It is recommended that the Jagong Health Center is advised to provide comprehensive and continuous information, increase knowledge about IVA and Pap's smears by making posters and more interesting information so that mother's knowledge increases.
