Abstract

The National Family Planning Movement (KB) is one of the main activities in an effort to achieve quality families which is directed at controlling the rate of population growth by reducing the birth rate to achieve a balance between population growth and economic growth so as to realize an increase in family health (Ritonga, 2018). Indonesia has succeeded in suppressing its population growth rate, since the family planning program was launched in the early 1970s. The total fertility rate (TFR) fell from 5.61 in 1971 to 2.6 in 2012, and in 2017, the TFR rate remained constant. 2.6. The 2020 census data obtained a population of 270.20 million people with a population growth rate per year during 2010-2020 an average of 1.25% slowing down compared to the 2000- 2010 period which was 1.49 percent (Statistics., 2020). The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the high use of 3-month injectable contraception in women of childbearing age in Bagan Asahan Village, Tanjung Balai District in 2021. This study was an analytical observational study using a Cross Sectional approach, the sample size in this study was as many as 70 respondents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria obtained by the total sampling method and tested using the Chi square test. Based on the results of the analysis, there is a significant relationship between age, education, knowledge, parity, husband's support and the choice of 3-month injection KB in the work area of Bagan Asahan Village, Tanjung Balai Subdistrict in 2021 with the results of statistical tests using the chi-square test obtained a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. It is suggested to the Bagan Asahan village to improve health promotion and health motivation through KIE (Communication, Information, and Education) regarding family planning and contraceptives in collaboration with village midwives and health centers
